About Help Comes Home

Working for Your Independence

Help Comes Home was created to help seniors stay stronger, steadier, and more independent in their own homes.

Our mission is to help seniors remain at home, reduce preventable decline, and support the everyday routines that make independent living possible. We focus on practical, non-medical support built around mobility, fall-prevention awareness, in-home coaching, and family peace of mind.

Help Comes Home was founded by John Grunden after seeing the need in his own family. Like many families, he recognized the gap between “everything is fine” and a major fall, hospitalization, or crisis. Many seniors do not need full medical care right away, but they do need consistent support, encouragement, movement, organization, and someone paying attention.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help seniors stay out of the hospital when possible and continue living independently in their own homes by providing practical support focused on mobility, stability, routine, and confidence.

Why Help Comes Home Exists

Aging at home is the goal for many seniors, but staying home safely often depends on more than good intentions. Strength, balance, confidence, organization, and consistent routines matter. When those areas begin to slip, families may feel the pressure long before a formal care plan is in place.

Help Comes Home was built for that gap. We support seniors who want to remain independent and families who want to help, but cannot always be present for every appointment, concern, errand, exercise routine, or change in daily function.

How We Do It

Our process begins with a practical assessment conducted by a certified personal trainer experienced in working with senior mobility. From there, we develop a plan based on the senior’s needs, ability, home environment, and goals.

The plan may include guided mobility routines, fall-prevention awareness, coaching, light home support, errands, organization, reminders, family updates, and—when appropriate and desired—licensed massage therapy.

Assessment

We begin by learning about the senior’s mobility, routines, concerns, home environment, and family goals.

Coaching

Based on the assessment, our team helps guide a practical plan focused on independence, confidence, and consistency.

Massage Therapy

For some clients, licensed massage therapy may be included as part of a broader plan supporting comfort, mobility, and quality of life.

What Makes Us Different

Help Comes Home is not simply an errand service, and it is not a medical provider. We are focused on helping seniors function better in daily life by supporting the routines and movement patterns that help them remain independent.

  • We focus on senior independence, not just task completion.
  • We begin with assessment rather than guesswork.
  • We include mobility and fall-prevention awareness as core parts of the model.
  • We provide support inside the home where seniors actually live and move.
  • We keep families informed so they are not left wondering how things are going.
  • We are honest about what we can and cannot provide.

Our Non-Medical Scope

Help Comes Home provides non-medical support only. We do not provide nursing care, medical treatment, medication administration, diagnosis, emergency response, physical therapy, or services requiring a licensed medical provider.

When a client’s needs are outside our scope, we will say so. Our goal is to support independence responsibly, not pretend to be something we are not.

Help at home. Confidence for seniors. Peace of mind for families.

If your loved one wants to remain independent but needs practical support with mobility, routines, organization, or daily function, Help Comes Home may be the right place to start.
